Meridian Health

Meridian Cancer Care offers many types of support groups that serve cancer patients and their significant others. The group members find solace in sharing their feelings, experiences, and concerns with those who can best understand them — others who have gone through similar experiences.

The objectives are to provide support and to promote an open communication of thoughts and feelings in a confidential and non-judgmental atmosphere. Sharing strength and hope can lead to new friendships, healthy support systems, and ongoing knowledge, all of which enhance healing.

Adult Art Therapy

Riverview Medical Center
New Impressions, an open art studio for adult outpatient oncology patients, meets Thursday mornings from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Sessions are held at Riverview Medical Center, and there is no fee to participants for this grant funded program. Bereavement Support Group

Riverview Medical Center
A six-week adult bereavement support group held every Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., beginning March 7 and ending April 11, 2012. Held in the Riverview Medical Center Conference Room. Breast Cancer Support Group

Children's Art Therapy

This is a seven-week group for children 4 1/2 -13 years. Children are grouped by age range. Two types of groups: bereavement and living with a chronically ill family member. Healing Helpers Support Group

Inner Circle Support Group

Offered to family, friends, and caregivers of those diagnosed with cancer.
