Minimally Invasive Surgery and the Jersey Shore
SurgiCenter at Jersey Shore University Medical Center

At Jersey Shore University Medical Center we take an active role in giving women alternatives to traditional surgery that they may not have had in the past. Options include:

• endometrial ablation
• laparoscopic myomectomy
• laser surgery
• uterine artery embolization

All patients are given access to bloodless protocol surgery. Residents are exposed to all of these cases in our SurgiCenter throughout their four years at Jersey Shore Univerisity Medical Center.

Our outpatient SurgiCenter is a state-of-the-art facility with four operating suites equipped for general anesthesia and an additional four suites for minor procedures. The facility is staffed with a multidisciplinary team including board certified anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, clinical nurse managers, and physical therapists. The center is adjacent with the main hospital, which is convenient for both patients and staff.

Our volume continues to grow. We are now performing over 1200 cases per year.
