With a health care environment that is rapidly changing, the care of the older adult patient has become increasingly more challenging. Pearls of Geriatric Wisdom will bring together experts to discuss common challenges of older adults and recommend evidence based initiatives that demonstrate a commitment to patient/family centered care in order to prevent harm and promote patient safety.

The NICHE program was developed by the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing at NYU College of Nursing to help hospitals make systemic changes in the way they care for older adults. Over 250 hospitals nationally have benefited by integrating NICHE into their facility. For more information please visit NICHEprogram.org.
Meridian Health hospitals registered as NICHE sites in 2000. Special thanks to the Meridian Health NICHE committee for their ongoing commitment to excellence to geriatric patient care.
