Michelle McCarthy, Pharmacist

Michelle has been with Meridian Health as a pharmacist at Jersey Shore University Medical Center for the past two and a half years. She worked as a pharmacist in the retail setting for 10 years, but made the switch to health care on the recommendation of a friend who enjoyed working at a hospital. “This is the best job for me,” says Michelle,” because I can help people, use my brain everyday and get a lot of pleasure from working with our other team members. This is exactly what I was looking for in a career.” As a pharmacist at Jersey Shore, Michelle works in four different satellite pharmacies located throughout the medical center. This gives her the opportunity to work in different patient settings, as well as work along side other pharmacists and technicians. Michelle praised the strong sense of teamwork at Meridian, and how the organization encourages team members to fulfill their professional goals. Outside of work, Michelle is a newly-wed who enjoys taking cooking classes and gardening. She is also busy working on a scrap-book of her family tree that will cover three generations.
