JERSEY SHORE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER PRESENTS
PHYSICIAN PANEL ON BREAST CANCER
Focus on Early Detection and New Treatment Options Discussed on August 29 at Atlantic Club
Neptune, NJ - With more than 178,000 new diagnoses of breast cancer expected nationally in 2007 -- including nearly 7,000 in New Jersey -- women seek up-to-date information on the disease and ways to treat it. That is why Jersey Shore University Medical Center will present "Breast Cancer: Early Detection and New Treatment Options" on Wednesday, August 29, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, at the Atlantic Club in Manasquan. Three distinguished physicians will appear in the breast cancer panel. Jonathan Briggs, M.D., is a specialist in radiation oncology; Cynthia Kocsis, M.D., is a breast surgeon; and Susan Greenberg, M.D. specializes in hematology and oncology. This is the sixth and last seminar in a series of educational programs sponsored this summer by Jersey Shore and the Atlantic Club -- a unique partnership by a tertiary hospital and a fitness club to share a message of keeping people healthy. Other topics previously presented this summer were prostate cancer, pediatric behavioral health, diabetes, thyroid management and cardiac care. The session is open to all community members interested in learning the importance of early detection and treatment for breast cancer. There is no charge for the seminar, but registration is required by calling 1-800-560-9990. Raffles and light refreshments will be served.
