THE GUILD OF OCEAN MEDICAL CENTER TO HOST FOURTH ANNUAL “FRIENDS ON THE BAY FUNDRAISER” --SLATED FOR FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5 --

--Slated for Friday, October 5 --

Brick, NJ - Reservations and sponsorship opportunities are now available as the Guild of Ocean Medical Center plans the Fourth Annual “Friends of the Bay” Fundraiser which will benefit the Oncology Navigator Program, the Ocean Care Center and additional inpatient and outpatient Oncology projects. This year’s event will be held on Friday, October 5th at 6:30 p.m. in Bay Head. Tickets are $85; and sponsorship levels vary.

“This event has become a proud tradition for us and each year we look forward to making it even more spectacular and more profitable than the prior year,” said Susan Scherler, Guild president. Mrs. Scherler and her husband Ernie Scherler, Chairman of the Ocean Medical Center Foundation Board are co-chairing this year’s event along with Dick and JoEllen Goldman.

Mr. Scherler added, “Guests can look forward to hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, a silent and live auction as well as music and dancing. With the help of an outstanding committee of area residents, this annual fundraiser has raised over $250,000 for the Cancer Center and Oncology services. I can not emphasize enough just how passionate and committed our committee is.”

The Oncology Navigator Program is a unique offering that lends comfort and support to cancer patients at Ocean Medical Center. The program guides patients from diagnosis to recovery; supporting them and helping them work through challenges such as family and job responsibilities. The program, which is funded solely by Ocean Medical Center and grants, offers coping skills necessary to navigate through this very difficult time in one’s life.

The Ocean Care Center in Point Pleasant, is satellite emergency department of Ocean Medical Center that is fully qualified and equipped to treat virtually all kinds of minor emergencies — like broken bones, sprains, cuts requiring stitches, burns, and stomach ailments. Ocean Care Center was New Jersey's very first satellite emergency department.
