PINEWOODS RESIDENT TO CELEBRATE 100TH BIRTHDAY

Howell, NJ - Margaret Collins, a resident at Pinewoods Assisted Living in Freehold, a member of the Meridian Health Family, will soon be celebrating her one-hundredth birthday, surrounded by friends and family at the facility. Born and raised in New York City, Margaret has been a resident of Pinewoods for over two years.

As the only surviving sibling of 11, Margaret's parents were from Ireland and came to the United States in the late 1800's. Because of this, she has great Irish pride and has even recently crocheted an Irish flag for her daughter, Terry. In addition to crocheting, she enjoys dancing and singing.

Margaret was married for 40 years and had seven children. Her three remaining children reside in New York and New Jersey. She has three grandchildren and one great grandchild. For most of her life, Margaret was a stay-at-home mom.

Amy Schneider, activity director at Pinewoods, describes Margaret as "a smart, elegant, and beautiful person inside and out."

In recognition of her one-hundredth birthday, the staff at Pinewoods has sent Margaret's picture to The Today Show to be announced by Willard Scott.
