RIVERVIEW MEDICAL CENTER RECOGNIZED FOR PROVIDING AN OUTSTANDING EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT EXPERIENCE

Riverview Medical Center receives its third J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospital Award

Red Bank, NJ - Riverview Medical Center has been recognized for service excellence under the J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospital ProgramSM. This distinction acknowledges a strong commitment by Riverview Medical Center to provide “An Outstanding Emergency Department Experience.”

This distinction was determined by surveying recently discharged Riverview patients on their emergency room visit and comparing the results to the national benchmark established by the annual J.D. Power and Associates National Hospital Service Performance Study.SM

The telephone-based research conducted among Riverview patients focused on the five key drivers of patients’ satisfaction with their overall hospital experience. These drivers, which were identified in the national study, are: speed and efficiency; dignity and respect; comfort; information and communication; and emotional support.

This is the third time that Riverview has received a J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Hospital award, but it is the first distinction for the Emergency Department.

“We take great pride in the fact that our Emergency Department has achieved this distinction. Over the past five years, we all have witnessed amazing progress. It began with vision and a kind act of generosity,” said Tim Hogan, FACHE, president of Riverview Medical Center.

Five years ago, a team of Riverview physicians, administrators, nurses and other team members assessed the emergency care center and created a plan to enhance the facility and its services. The vision was to develop the best emergency care center for our community. The vision would not have been possible without the generosity of the Hovnanian family. Through their generous donation and their belief in Riverview’s vision, the Alton A. Hovnanian Emergency Care Center was built.

“This recent honor from J.D. Power and Associates is a reflection of our patients’ positive experiences,” added Mr. Hogan.
