Through our affiliation with the Arthritis Foundation, we have specially certified and qualified instructors to teach these unique programs developed by the Arthritis Foundation.
AFAP Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program
The Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program is a warm water recreational exercise class designed to allow you to exercise without putting excess strain on your joints and muscles. The AFAP gives you the opportunity to perform gentle range of motion activities to reduce pain and stiffness in a friendly supportive environment.
Available at the Point Pleasant location only.
AFEP Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program
The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program is an exercise program designed by the Arthritis Foundation to help you sustain your quality of life if you have been diagnosed with Arthritis. Gentle activities are used to help increase joint flexibility, maintain range of motion and preserve muscle strength. You may perform the exercises seated, or use an assistive device such as a walker or cane. Locations will vary.
Tai Chi from the Arthritis Foundation
Tai Chi from the Arthritis Foundation is appropriate for you if you have mild to moderate impaired joint motion and/or strength. It is also appropriate if you are not affected by arthritis but wish to begin a joint-safe Tai Chi program. Locations will vary.
