Specialty Group Exercise

These exercise classes are available to members and non-members on a fee for service basis.

Move for Life-Preadolescent Exercise Classes
These classes are designed to promote weight-loss and an active lifestyle for overweight preadolescents. Classes will incorporate five weeks of cardiovascular exercise, weight training, and nutritional education. Medical clearance is necessary. Locations vary.

Pre- and Post-Natal Yoga
Pre- and Post-natal classes are designed for both moms-to be and new moms. The classes are designed to enhance flexibility, promote relaxation and decrease stress. Locations vary.

Refined Spine
Refined Spine is a six-week back class that focuses on the three key components of back injury prevention – posture, conditioning, and body mechanics. Our exercise specialist will guide you through a series of gentle and functional core exercises and stretches to keep your spine refined! Instruction will concentrate on proper posturing and body mechanics used at work and home. Classes are held at Life Fitness in Point Pleasant Beach. Therapeutic Yoga
Therapeutic yoga is for anyone looking for a gentle yoga class that focuses on healing. No prior yoga experience is required. The class will include gentle active and restorative asanas (yoga poses), mudras (hand gestures) for healing and relaxation, and stress relieving pranayana (breathing). Therapeutic yoga has been proven to lower blood pressure and enhance immune system function. Classes are held at Life Fitness in Point Pleasant Beach. Read more about our Therapeutic Yoga class.

Fall Proof
The Fall Proof program is designed to improve your balance and prevent falls. The program incorporates fall risk assessments, education on fall prevention, instruction on how to get up from the floor, proper use of assistive devices, assessment of proper footwear, and gentle group exercise class that includes balance training, gait training, functional strengthening, cardiovascular conditioning, and flexibility training. Classes are held at both Life Fitness locations, or we can bring the class to your facility. Read more about the Fall Proof program.
