JERSEY SHORE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER TO HOST BLOOD DRIVE IN CONJUNCTION WITH CENTRAL JERSEY BLOOD CENTEROn Friday, July 11, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Central Jersey Blood Center will be holding a blood drive at Jersey Shore University Medical Center's Lance Auditorium, 1945 Route 33 in Neptune.
New Jersey is currently facing chronic blood shortage as 9 out of every 10 New Jersey residents will need blood at some point in their lives. Last year, New Jersey used 75,000 more units of blood than collected.
Most adults are eligible donors yet only 2.5 percent of our population donates, compared to five percent nationwide. To be eligible donors must be healthy, 17 years of age or older, and weigh at least 120 pounds. They must provide signature identification and have waited at least 8 weeks since last donating blood. All equipment used during the procedure is sterile and disposable.
Just one pint of blood can save up to 3 lives. To make an appointment, please visit cjblood.org, sponsor code 4507, or call 732-842-5750x237.
