OCEAN MEDICAL CENTER RECOGNIZED FOR HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS
Corporate Citizen Award presented for organization and staff commitment to diversityOcean Medical Center has received the Corporate Citizen Award from the American Conference on Diversity. The Medical Center was recognized for demonstrating leadership within the public, private and nonprofit sectors as a model organization that embraces and celebrates diversity in the Ocean and Monmouth County communities. The humanitarian award was presented by the Jersey Shore Chapter of the American Conference on Diversity.
"Diversity is a very broad term that can be interpreted a number of ways, but at our organization, it can boil down to appreciating each others differences and celebrating our similarities," said Peter Daniels, FACHE, president of Ocean Medical Center. "Ultimately, it's about delivering on our health care mission with an equal level of excellence to everyone we serve."
The American Conference on Diversity represents the cornerstone of a revitalized movement valuing diversity and fighting discrimination. This dedicated group is committed to valuing New Jersey's diversity and building a strong social and community fabric based on that diversity - within workplaces, schools and communities.
Accepting the award on behalf of Ocean Medical Center and Meridian Health, Daniels said, "As a not-for-profit health care provider, we strive to maintain a diverse team of professionals from many different backgrounds to provide the best care for our patients, and we are proud of our team. We treat each patient's individual, unique needs. For us, diversity is not just good service or doing the right thing - it's about being the best possible health care providers and delivering on our charitable mission."
