Cooking Demonstration To Highlight Heart Healthy Meal Options On February 13 At Ocean Medical Center

Ocean Medical Center, ShopRite of Brick host free "Cooking with Heart" program

The community is invited to "Cooking with Heart", an entertaining program of cooking demonstrations, gourmet samplings, and heart-healthy information that can change your life. The program will take place on Friday, February 13 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Ocean Medical Center in Conference Room A (located at 425 Jack Martin Boulevard in Brick.)

The program will begin with board certified cardiologist James Orlando, M.D., who will provide an overview on heart disease, risk factors, treatment options, and share ways in which individuals can take control of their lifestyle and improve their heart health. Then a Registered Dietitian from Meridian Health and a talented chef instructor from ShopRite's Culinary Workshop will discuss and produce all-natural, fresh meals that are heart-friendly and tasty too!

The program is presented in partnership with ShopRite of Brick and the Cardiovascular Institute of Philadelphia. The program is free; space is limited. To register, call 1-800-DOCTORS.

Cooking with Heart is part of Meridian Health's 28 Days to a Healthier Heart initiative, which has every day of the month of February featuring a program, health screening, or web based information. For a full calendar of events during February, visit
