HPV: What Every Parent And Woman Needs To Know

On July 22, 2009 at 5:30 p.m., Ocean Medical Center will host an educational presentation for parents and women on the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Ocean Medical Center physicians Alan Welt, M.D. and Aileen Abesamis, M.D. will discuss everything adolescents and women need to know about protecting themselves from the number one cause of cervical cancer.

Dr. Alan Welt, an OB/GYN and national speaker on the HPV test, and Dr. Aileen Abesamis, a pediatrician, will educate women and parents about the essentials of HPV and give them the opportunity to learn how it's contracted and what can be done to prevent it.

According to the Center for Disease Control, approximately 6.2 million people become infected with HPV each year. Since this is such an overwhelming number, women interested in their own health, as well as parents who have questions about their adolescent or young adult daughters, are encouraged to attend.

The program will be held in Conference Room A at Ocean Medical Center, 425 Jack Martin Boulevard, Brick, NJ 08724. For more information regarding the program or to register please call 1-800-DOCTORS.
