Scott, M.D., senior vice president of Clinical Effectiveness and Medical Affairs for Meridian Health, as a Certified Physician Executive (CPE). CCMM awarded Dr. Scott the status of Certified Physician Executive for his educational achievements, demonstrated stature as a physician, and experience in the field of medical management.
Dr. Scott serves as the key physician leader for Meridian Health, which includes Jersey Shore University Medical Center and K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital in Neptune, Ocean Medical Center in Brick, Southern Ocean County Hospital in Manahawkin, and Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, and oversees clinical quality and service excellence, in collaboration with Meridian's senior leadership team and medical staffs.
Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Scott brings over 27 years of experience in the medical field, previously serving as vice president of Clinical Effectiveness and Medical Affairs at Riverview Medical Center. Prior to joining the hospital administration, Dr. Scott was in private practice, served as president of the medical staff at Riverview Medical Center, and as president of the Medical Society of New Jersey.
The CPE designation indicates that a physician has achieved superior levels of professional excellence and management education, while also demonstrating effective knowledge and leadership skills. The Certifying Commission in Medical Management currently lists more than 1,000 Certified Physician Executives.
The national certifying body for physicians specializing in medical management, the Certifying Commission in Medical Management is a not-for-profit corporation chartered by the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) to establish and maintain the high standards required for physician executive certification. The ACPE is the nation's largest organization of physicians in health care leadership.
