Meridian Cancer Care Welcomed as 'System Partner' to The Cancer Institute of New JerseyContinuing to build on its collective strength in the areas of oncology research and treatment, The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ) has announced that Meridian Cancer Care, the comprehensive collection of cancer specialists and services of Meridian Health, has been designated as its "System Partner." As a System Partner, each of Meridian's hospitals has a Commission on Cancer accredited cancer program and a very strong commitment to quality cancer care and cancer clinical research. "Meridian's affiliation as a System Partner reflects its value to the CINJ Network of affiliated hospitals and its close working relationship with CINJ," said Molly Gabel, M.D., director of the CINJ Network and associate professor of radiation oncology at UMNDJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. "Through its membership in many Network-wide task force groups aimed at improving cancer care throughout New Jersey and by its active membership in CINJ's research network, the CINJ Oncology Group (CINJOG), Meridian Cancer Care demonstrates its strong commitment to the communities of New Jersey."
"At Meridian, we look beyond a patient's cancer, viewing them as the individual they are," said Marc Lory, president of Meridian Hospitals Corporation and executive vice president of, Meridian Health . "Our dedicated team of experts collaborating on the latest in research, trials, diagnosis, surgery, treatments, and recovery, work together to create effective and highly personalized care for our patients. This new partnership with CINJ provides an even greater foundation to advance our mission, and ensure the best options for care are available close to home.

Meridian is a community of caregivers taking care of the communities in which they live and offering a caring environment with support programs focused on surviving cancer and getting you back to the people who count on you.
Meridian Cancer Care is no stranger to CINJ, as Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Southern Ocean Medical Center, and Bayshore Community Hospital have been long-time affiliates of the CINJ Network. As the region's only university-level academic hospital, Jersey Shore University Medical Center has also been a Major Clinical Affiliate, highlighting its commitment to clinical research and bringing cancer discoveries directly to patients. "By having the addition of Ocean Medical Center and Riverview Medical Center under the new System Partner umbrella, the CINJ Network is showing great reach across the state, enabling cancer patients throughout the region to have even greater access to treatment options that may only be available through this expanded affiliation," noted Dr. Gabel.
