Women's Imaging Pavilion at Ocean Medical Center Designated an ACR Breast Imaging Center of ExcellenceThe Women's Imaging Pavilion at Ocean Medical Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). It is the only imaging center in Ocean County to earn this prestigious designation.
By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).
"Patients have a choice when selecting an imaging center, and this designation sets us apart from others for the exceptional level of care and service that we provide to each person," says R. Lance Dillon, M.D. medical director of the Women's Imaging Pavilion. "Our patients benefit from the highest quality service, provided by a warm and experienced staff, while enjoying the comforts of a spa-like setting."
Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that the Women's Imaging Pavilion at Ocean Medical Center has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 34,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
As a board certified diagnostic radiologist with fellowship training in breast imaging, interventional radiology, and nuclear medicine, Dr. Dillon leads the team at the Women's Imaging Pavilion to provide the very best in women's health services. These services include digital mammography; ultrasound for breast, pelvic, abdomen, gynecologic and obstetrical studies; minimally invasive breast biopsy; and bone density (DEXA) to detect osteoporosis. The center offers convenient day, evening, and weekend hours, as well as free valet and garage parking.
