Local Residents Gain Enhanced Breast Cancer Services
Paramjeet Kaur, M.D., FACS joins Ocean Medical Center, Meridian Cancer CareOcean Medical Center has expanded women's health and breast cancer surgical programs with the recruitment of Paramjeet Kaur, M.D., FACS. Dr. Kaur is Fellowship trained in Breast Surgical Oncology and provides the team at Ocean Medical Center and Meridian Cancer Care with additional expertise and resources for local community members.
Dr. Kaur is working closely with Mark Krasna, M.D., medical director of Meridian Cancer Care, and Debra Camal, M.D., medical director of the breast program to redesign the delivery of breast cancer services.
According to Dean Lin, president of Ocean Medical Center, "Dr. Kaur's approach to cancer care is multidisciplinary. She works closely with radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists and medical oncologists to provide seamless, comprehensive care to the breast cancer patients."
"I'm excited to be part of a team that is bringing quality cancer services to members of the community in a manner that is convenient and personal," says Dr. Kaur. "Patients have excellent resources for diagnosis, treatment and recovery, all close to home. That is critical when you are dealing with cancer."
"Our focus is on ensuring patient-centered, multi-disciplinary cancer care, where an entire team of medical experts reaches a consensus before any treatment is delivered. This case review and treatment planning arms patients with their own personal team to help them understand and plan for their cancer diagnosis," says Dr. Krasna. "Paired with access to clinical trials through The Cancer Institute of New Jersey, we are driving innovation within the breast program of Meridian Cancer Care." Dr. Krasna notes that Dr. Kaur will be working closely with Meridian Cancer Care patient navigators (care coordinators) to identify patient needs, assist with coordination of care and education, and connect patients to community resources.
Dr. Kaur practices at Ocean Medical Center in Brick and Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin. For more information about her services or to make an appointment, call 732.836.4673.
