Meridian Health Director of Consumer Technology and Service Development, Sandra Elliott will be speaking on a panel at the upcoming HiMSS13 Annual Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans, on March 5, 2013.
HiMSS13 is the destination for thousands of like minded IT professionals, clinicians and health care executives from around the world. Elliott will be part of a panel discussion titled: Building Patient 2.0: Engaging People in Health through Consumer-Facing Devices and Tools. This session will focus on the market drivers for patients to adopt and use innovative devices and tools which are being developed by health care technology players as well as consumer electronics companies and entrepreneurs. Case studies from innovative health providers will highlight how prescribing these tools to patients can bolster self-care and optimal health outcomes.
At Meridian Health, Elliott's role is to develop new technology based services and business ventures targeting population segments such as the boomer and aging populations. While aggressively employing new approaches to understanding the health and wellness needs of consumers, technological applications are aggressively evaluated as a new method to meet those needs.
