Southern Ocean Medical Center Honors Foundation Trustee Fred Duffy for 14 Years of ServiceFred Duffy has been honored by the Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation for his outstanding service as a Board Trustee from 1998 until 2011. Duffy was presented with a plaque to commemorate his 14 years of hard work and dedication.
During his term, Duffy helped raise considerable funds to assist Southern Ocean Medical Center in fulfilling its mission to enhance the health of the residents and visitors of southern Ocean county. He also served on several Foundation committees, including the Nominating and Planned Giving committees.
Duffy's late wife, Marcia Duffy, was a long-time supporter of Southern Ocean Medical Center as a devoted volunteer for 30 years. At the hospital, she worked in the Emergency Department, at the front desk, and as a hospice volunteer.
As residents of Long Beach Island and Manahawkin for 35 years, the Duffys have been involved in numerous church and local community clubs and activities. Today, Fred Duffy remains committed to serving Southern Ocean Medical Center and continues to help his community as co-chair of the Foundation's Senior Community Capital Campaign.
