Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations Hosts Successful Gala Fundraiser
Annual Gala raises more than $600,000 to benefit Meridian Health's hospitals and programsThe seventeenth annual Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations Gala, "Navigating the Health of New Jersey," was held on November 22 at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch, and raised more than $600,000.
A sold-out crowd of almost 700 guests attended the event, which honored John and Penny Garbarino of Manasquan and was chaired by Christopher and Maria Maher of Rumson.
As one of the area's leading fundraisers, the gala benefits Meridian's not-for-profit hospitals and community health programs in Monmouth and Ocean counties, including Jersey Shore University Medical Center and K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital in Neptune, Ocean Medical Center in Brick, Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, and Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel.
"It is through the dedication of our Gala volunteers and participation of our event sponsors that we are able to host this hugely successful fundraising event in benefit of the patients we care for every day," says John K. Lloyd, FACHE, president of Meridian Health. "This event provides the opportunity for us to spend time with our Meridian trustees, physicians and leaders, who we consider to be a part of the Meridian family, and to thank them for their trust and continued support."
