Southern Ocean Medical Center Receives ACR Accreditation for CT Imaging
Computed Tomography (CT) Scan services acknowledged for exceptional care and quality.Southern Ocean Medical Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in CT as the result of a survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
"ACR accreditation demonstrates Southern Ocean Medical Center's commitment to quality patient care," says Alicia Daniels, M.D., department chair of radiology at Southern Ocean Medical Center. "The survey is a long and comprehensive process to go through. It reinforces that patients can have a high level of confidence in knowing that our staff delivers exceptional clinical care with a personal, caring touch."
The ACR is a national organization that awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of facility equipment. The surveyors report their findings to the ACR's Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report.
