'Build a Better Future' at Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations’ Annual Gala on November 21
Honoring Mrs. Kevork S. Hovnanian (Emily) for her family’s continued leadership in this community
The Eighteenth Annual Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations’ Gala, "Building a Better Future," will be held on Saturday, November 21 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch. This signature fundraising event benefits Meridian's not-for-profit hospitals and community health programs in both Monmouth and Ocean counties.
This year’s gala will honor Emily Hovnanian while celebrating the tenth anniversary of the transformational gift Emily and her late husband Kevork made to Meridian to name K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital. The Hovnanians’ historic gift continues to have a profound impact on our community, ensuring access to advanced pediatric clinical care services for Meridian's youngest patients.
“I can speak on behalf of the entire Hovnanian family when I say we are humbled to have Emily as our mom. She and our father, Kevork, taught us the value of community and generosity early on and what it means to share for the betterment of others,” says Lucy Kalian, daughter of Emily and Kevork and co-chair of the event. “We couldn’t be more excited to chair this event, honor our amazing mother, and help raise critical funds for Meridian Health.”
Additional co-chairs include the Hovnanian’s children and spouses, James and Esto Barry, Ara and Rachel Hovnanian, Mazin Kalian, Dr. Tavit and Sossie Najarian, and Dr. Roberto and Nadia Rodriguez.
The event will feature a cocktail reception, seated dinner, dessert display and lively music presented by “The Rhythm Shop”. Guests can also enjoy an exciting silent auction and 50/50 cash raffle during the event.
“Emily Hovnanian has been a long-time friend of ours,” shares John K. Lloyd, FACHE, President and CEO of Meridian Health. “The tenth anniversary of K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital is such a special, monumental occasion and we welcome the opportunity to honor the Hovnanian family and show them just how truly grateful we are for their continued support.”
The gala is sponsored by generous donors, including OceanFirst Bank, Cocktail Reception Sponsor, and C.R. Bard, Decoration Sponsor.
