Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation Hosts 32nd Annual Sports Classic Golf Tournament
On July 6, Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Subs, chaired Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation’s 32nd annual Sports Classic Golf Tournament at the Deal Golf and Country Club and Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, NJ. The sold-out event hosted 252 golfers, and raised nearly $300,000 in support of cardiovascular programs and other areas of greatest need at Jersey Shore, part of the Meridian Health family.
In 2014, more than 800 cardiac surgeries were performed at Meridian, ranking among the highest volumes in New Jersey and New York. Jersey Shore is a recognized leader in the region, offering the most complete range of heart and vascular services – from prevention and diagnosis to advanced surgery, rehabilitation through recovery.
“Seeing the hospital and meeting the team members who work so hard each day to save lives really inspired me to get involved,” explains Peter Cancro. “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to participate in this important fundraising event and support Jersey Shore’s mission to provide the best health care close to home.”
