Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation to Host 32nd Annual Sports Classic Golf Tournament
On July 6, under the direction of event chair Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s Subs, Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation will host its thirty-second annual Sports Classic Golf Tournament at the Deal Golf and Country Club and Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, NJ.
The event features a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. and will include a pre-golf lunch, on-course refreshments and a cocktail and awards reception with a live and silent auction following play. Though golf is sold out, sponsorships, 50/50 raffle chances and tickets to the cocktail and awards reception are still available.
Proceeds from the event support cardiovascular programs and other areas of greatest need at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. In 2014, more than 800 cardiac surgeries were performed at Meridian, ranking among the highest volumes in New Jersey and New York. Jersey Shore University Medical Center is a recognized leader in the region, offering the most complete range of heart and vascular services – from prevention and diagnosis to advanced surgery, rehabilitation through recovery. Last year, the Sports Classic generated a record-breaking amount of $290,000 in support of cardiovascular services at the hospital.
“Seeing the hospital and meeting the team members who work so hard each day to save lives really inspired me to get involved,” explains Peter Cancro. “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to participate in this important fundraising event and support Jersey Shore’s mission to provide the best health care close to home.”
The event is sold out. However, there is still time left to purchase raffle or reception tickets or to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.
