Jersey Shore University Medical Center to host 2016 Resident Graduation Ceremony on June 17

Jersey Shore University Medical Center, the region’s leading academic medical center, will host its annual Resident Program graduation for 46 residents on Friday, June 17 at 4:00 p.m. Family and friends, fellow residents, physicians, and administration will attend the ceremony to congratulate graduates from the Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, Podiatry and Sports Medicine programs and celebrate the next generation of physicians and other health care providers.

"We are very impressed with this class of graduates," says David S. Kountz, Vice President, Academic Affairs at Meridian Health. "They are an outstanding group that helped provide great care to our patients, and will no doubt continue to do so as they continue their careers. We are fortunate that several will be staying on the Medical and Dental Staffs at Meridian Health hospitals, while others are going into practice or continuing their training in fellowship programs."

Graduating residents will commence fellowship training at institutions such as University of Florida in Jacksonville, FL; Northshore LIJ in NY; and the University of Connecticut, CT in specialties including Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Hematology/Oncology, and several pediatric specialties.

On June 22, Jersey University Medical Center will welcome 49 new residents to begin their training programs.
