Jersey Shore University Medical Center Welcomes Adult and Pediatric Otolaryngologists Mursalin M. Anis, M.D., Ph.D. and Seth McAfee, M.D.
Jersey Shore University Medical Center recently welcomed board certified Adult and Pediatric Otolaryngologists Mursalin M. Anis, M.D., Ph.D. and Seth McAfee, M.D. Both Dr. Anis and Dr. McAfee will play vital roles in expanding the surgical team’s capabilities and treatment for patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck.
Dr. Mursalin Anis treats patients suffering from all diseases of the ear, nose and throat, with a special focus on laryngeal cancer and stenosis, voice changes, and breathing and swallowing difficulties. He completed his Laryngology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School. He has advanced training in voice restoration surgery (phonosurgery) and treating cancer and dysplasia with maximal preservation of normal vibratory functions of the voice box. He is trained in care of the Professional Voice and performs office-based procedures on the larynx.
Dr. Anis received his medical degree and a doctorate degree in Immunology from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Anis then went on to complete his residency in Otolaryngology at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA before pursuing fellowship training. Dr. McAfee treats patients in all aspects of Otolaryngology with specialization in the medical and surgical treatment of the ear. He is fellowship trained in Neurotology from University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA., and received his medical degree from the Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, OH, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. McAfee completed his internship in general surgery and residency in Otolaryngology at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, where he was awarded a grant by the Richmond Eye and Ear Foundation for his ototoxicity research. Dr. McAfee has published clinical manuscripts and contributes regularly to medical texts focused on Neurotology.
