Southern Ocean Medical Center has expanded its cancer program to accommodate multidisciplinary care and technological capabilities that better serves our oncology patients and their families.
Meridian Cancer Care at Southern Ocean Medical Center now provides a state-of-the-art healing environment of over 16,000 square feet for outpatient treatment and services. It features 20 new infusion stations in a comfortable healing environment, new patient care areas and consultation suite, expanded nurse navigator expertise, and a full spectrum of dedicated and experienced medical professionals. By early 2017, the newest radiation technology, a TrueBeam™ linear accelerator, will be added to the comprehensive cancer center.

Below: The new infusion space is designed so nursing staff maintains line of sight of each patient throughout the spacious treatment area, which also has accommodations for family members and friends.
Additionally, the center offers a multidisciplinary approach to care, where highly trained and experienced medical, radiation and surgical oncologists comprise a team that specializes in a variety of cancers. Nurse navigators guide patients every step of the way, and having centralized, comprehensive services allows for faster and easier scheduling and planning of services.
Cancer services currently provided will continue at the medical center throughout the duration of the project.
