Robotic Surgery

Robotic-assisted surgery is revolutionizing the way physicians operate on patients. Robotic procedures may be used to treat a broad spectrum conditions utilizing the da Vinci® Surgical System. This system entails using the small incisions associated with laparoscopic surgery, but with the improved visualization and range of motion the robotic surgical platform offers.

The da Vinci Surgical System may be an ideal minimally invasive treatment option for women who are affected by cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, early-stage ovarian cancer, fibroids, other pelvic masses or complex pelvic disease. For most women, the da Vinci Robot offers numerous potential benefits over traditional surgical approaches, including:

  • Less blood loss
  • Less pain
  • Less risk of infection and other complications
  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Quicker recovery and return to normal activities
  • Small incisions and minimal scarring

At the Center for Robotic Surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, fellowship trained and board certified gynecologic surgeons offer the following robotic procedures:

  • Robotic-assisted Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
  • Robotic surgery for Endometrial Cancer
  • Robotic surgery for Cervical Cancer
  • Robotic surgery for early-stage Ovarian Cancer
  • Robotic surgery for Nodes Dissection
  • Robotic surgery for complex benign gynecological conditions

Women should speak to their doctor about the best treatment option for their condition. Hackensack Meridian Health recognizes that all women are not alike and we strive to individualize each treatment plan based on the patients’ needs.
