Amy Grutzmacher is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) who received her certification in massage therapy and bodywork from Lincoln Tech in 2005. She is an AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) member, and since becoming an LMT has focused her practice on therapeutic massage.
For the past eight years, she has worked closely with physical therapists, acupuncturists, nutritionists and chiropractors. She has refined her skills to help patients in the injury recovery process, and also utilizes relaxation therapies to aid in over-all wellness.
Before becoming an LMT, Amy received her BFA in graphic design and illustration from Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA. After a year working as a graphic designer, she moved to New Hampshire and worked for AmeriCorps in the White Mountains, designing a hiking trail conservation program for troubled youths. After completing a year of service, Amy stayed in NH for three years while working for the Appalachian Mountain Club. Amy then moved back to her home state of New Jersey. Here, while attending school for massage therapy, she became a paraprofessional and worked with children with learning disabilities. Amy also worked with the Family Resource Network and Epilepsy Foundation, traveling across NJ giving educational presentations to nurses, police officers, educators and children about epilepsy. Although Amy’s graphic design career is behind her, she remains a commissioned artist.
Amy's massage therapy skills include many modalities, combining several techniques to accommodate each patient’s individual needs. She appreciates helping others through her massage work and is delighted to bring that desire to Hackensack Meridian Integrative Health & Medicine.
