Richard Lund, M.S., is an Integrative Health Associate for Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center-Perth Amboy and Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center-Old Bridge. He has over 35 years of experience working in a variety of health and wellness facilities, including hospitals, fitness and rehab centers, senior centers, business corporations. In addition, he teaches wellness through Tai Chi, Qigong, meditation, exercise and stress management classes. He has developed and implemented programs integrating the practice and principles of Tai Chi and Qigong with the science of exercise, health, and wellness.
Richard received his Masters Degree in Mental Health Evaluation and Research at Hahnemann Medical School in Philadelphia, completed a non-degreed graduate program in exercise science at Kean College in Union, NJ, and his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. He has numerous certifications in Tai Chi, health and medical Qigong, Reiki, health and fitness, and hypnosis/neuro linguistic programming.
In 2009 he began teaching Tai Chi and Qigong classes at Raritan Bay Medical Center-Perth Amboy and Raritan Bay Medical Center-Old Bridge and shortly after became an integrative health associate for the hospitals’ Integrative Medicine Division.
Richard now provides services to in-patients that include medical Qigong, Tai Chi principles and exercises, breathing techniques, guided imagery and hand/foot massage at Raritan Bay Medical Center-Perth Amboy and Raritan Bay Medical Center-Old Bridge.
Richard helped develop and produce guided imagery CDs to help with stress, pain, sleep, medical procedures and surgery. He continues to offer classes and workshops in the community and at both hospitals which integrate the essential principles and practice of Tai Chi, Qigong, and meditation into the activities of daily living of the participants, thereby improving mobility and function while nurturing their health and vitality.
