Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic disease of the central nervous system. It is thought to be an auto immune disorder. Some individuals with MS may be mildly affected while others may lose their ability to write, speak, or walk - when communication between the brain and other parts of the body become disrupted.
Diagnosis and Treatment
For those who are mildly affected to those who have more severe cases, our patients are cared for by a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated neurologists, nurses and therapists who work together to develop strategies for each patient to modify the disease course, treat exacerbations, manage symptoms, and improve function and mobility.
Deep Brain Stimulation: A type of therapy that uses electrical stimulation to treat Parkinson’s disease (PD), essential tremor, multiple sclerosis, and certain other neurological conditions. DBS can be effective in treating movement problems such as tremors, stiffness, difficulty in walking, and slowed movement. Learn more.
