MERIDIAN HEALTH APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT OF MERIDIAN AFFILIATED FOUNDATIONSMeridian Health proudly announces the appointment of David L. Flood as president of the Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations. Comprised of the Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation (which includes K .Hovnanian Children's Hospital), Ocean Medical Center Foundation, Riverview Medical Center Foundation, and Meridian Health Foundation, the Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations support philanthropic giving to benefit the hospitals and health care services of Meridian Health, the largest not-for-profit health care organization in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
David joins the Senior Executive Team of Meridian Health with 17 years of experience in health care and higher education fundraising, most recently serving as President of the Somerset Medical Center Foundation in Somerville, New Jersey.
"David is well known and respected both nationally and regionally in the fundraising industry, and we are indeed fortunate to have someone of his stature joining the Meridian Health family," says John K. Prior to his arrival in the health care arena, David held leadership positions at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Seton Hall Preparatory School, and Seton Hall University. As a respected individual within New Jersey's not-for-profit community, David served on numerous professional boards and committees, on both the local and national level. He has been named New Jersey's Outstanding Professional Fundraiser by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and was elected for two terms by colleagues to serve as regional director of the International Board of Directors for the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP).
Beyond his professional leadership, David has assisted numerous organizations in his personal life, recently serving on Boards for Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey and the Neumann Foundation, while advising numerous educational, health care and social service organizations in fundraising and non-profit management.

David and his wife Karen currently reside in Chatham and are relocating to the shore area with their four children.
