Annual Sweetheart Ball Benefiting Local Cancer Center To Be Held February 7, 2010

Event to benefit programs and services at Cancer Center at Jersey Shore University Medical Center Cancer Center

The 12th Annual Sweetheart Ball will be held on February 7 at Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

This year's Ball will benefit Jersey Shore University Medical Center Cancer Center's programs and services. The event, which is chaired by Eileen Sprance and co-chaired by Ann Marie Nahum, will honor Philip and Marilyn Perricone for their generous contributions to the Cancer Center, including the establishment of the Perricone Center for Gynecologic Oncology, one of the most comprehensive centers in the state dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological cancers. The Perricones will be presented with the William C. Black Award of Hope.

Funds raised at the 2009 Ball will assist in purchasing high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy equipment which is used in the treatment of prostate cancer, through targeting radiation directly on or within tumor sites, reducing radiation exposure to the surrounding healthy tissues.

Tickets for the Sweetheart Ball are $200 per person with many sponsorship and journal opportunities currently available. 50/50 tickets are also on sale with half of the proceeds to benefit Jersey Shore University Medical Center Cancer Center. This exciting evening will feature both live and silent auctions, as well as music provided by the Jack Goodman Band. Please call the Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations at 732-751-5112 for further information.
