Meridian Occupational Health First In The Northeast To Receive Quality Certification
Occupational health network first program in the region to receive "gold standard" certificationThe National Association of Occupational Health Professionals (NAOHP) is pleased to announce it has awarded Meridian Occupational Health, the region's leading provider of workplace health and safety services, a three-year Quality Certification. This certification is considered the "gold standard" in the industry, recognizing outstanding occupational health practices for excellence in the delivery of quality health care services to the workforce in the community.
Meridian Occupational Health, a regional provider of occupational health service, received a nearly perfect score of 99.8 percent out of a possible 100 percent compliance to standard, the highest score ever awarded to a newly certified program. It is the first program located in the Northeast to become NAOHP Quality-Certified.
"Our team is ecstatic with the results," says Steven Crawford, M.D., medical director for Meridian Occupational Health. "It was a great experience, and the feedback we received was invaluable. To be able to benchmark our practice against national standards issued by professionals in the industry validates our position as the number one provider of Occupational Medicine services in the region."
More About Certification
Occupational health programs and clinics undergoing NAOHP Site Certification are evaluated in comparison to established national standards in six categories which include administration, operational framework, staffing processes, quality assurance, product line development, and sales and marketing.
NAOHP Site Surveyor Donna Lee Gardner, a registered nurse and consultant who was instrumental in developing the NAOHP standards, said she was particularly impressed by the performance of Meridian Occupational Health's team members and their continuous review and analysis of the patient outcomes.
"I want to congratulate all of the Meridian team members," Gardner said. "This certification demonstrates how Meridian Occupational Health measures up to the highest standards and can be counted on to provide the best quality care to their patients."
"In this economy in particular, people want to get back to work quickly after an injury." says John K. Lloyd, FACHE, president of Meridian Health. "At Meridian Occupational Health we are dedicated to keeping New Jersey safe and healthy at work. We are very proud of the entire Occupational Health team for their outstanding performance and the hard work they demonstrate day after day."
Meridian Occupational Health was recognized by the NAOHP for "Outstanding Achievement" following its onsite survey in early June. "Outstanding Achievement" is 96-100 percent compliant, "Excellent Achievement" is 92-95 percent compliant, and "Honorable Achievement" is 90-92 percent compliant; 70-89 percent compliance to standard results in a one-year provisional certification.
