Cardiac rehabilitation can help individuals who have heart disease such as angina, have had a heart attack, angioplasty, stent or open heart surgery. Meridian's cardiac rehabilitation program combines education and exercise that helps to improve the quality of living, by adopting healthy lifestyle changes. These changes may include a heart healthy diet, increased physical activity, smoking cessation and learning how to manage stress.

Cardiac StepUp Program
Cardiac StepUp is an exercise program designed to improve the function of the heart. It involves exercising while having your blood pressure taken and learning to monitor your heart rate. The program also teaches you about heart disease and how to have a healthy lifestyle.

Cardiac "Smart Health" program
Smart Health Is a comprehensive program of diet, exercise & education for those with congestive heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, and many other health concerns. The CardioPulmonary team of registered nurses, exercise physiologists, and respiratory therapists will review medications and design an exercise program to meet individual needs and goals. A group supervised exercise program allows patients to learn exercise parameters and safety tips, while engaging in educational discussions on medications, heart healthy diet tips, and strategies to stay Heart Smart.
